Cindy Blanton, of Litchfield, holding her newly earned CDL, with Pam Hardin of Kentucky Career Center - Lincoln Trail.
When Cindy Blanton was ready to pursue her longtime career goal of entering the trucking industry, Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail was there to help her make it happen.
KCC-LT was able to:
Cindy worked with Pam Hardin at KCC-LT in Elizabethtown, and she said the support was invaluable.
“Pam was there every step of the way. She was so informative about everything and got me on my feet and gave me that extra push I needed,” Cindy said.
She credits KCC-LT, the Migrant Farm Workers program and Truck America Training for her success.
“They have helped me pull myself up and say, ‘I can do this.’ And, with their help, I did it,” she said.
With hard work and determination – not to mention a warm, positive attitude - Cindy now holds a CDL. She selected one of multiple job offers and is looking forward to starting her new career in early April.
A mother to six grown children, Cindy said she’s had an interest in trucking for some time as her family has worked in the industry for generations.
“I’ve always worked and taken care of my family, and now I’m at the point in my life where I can do what I’ve wanted to do for a long time. All my children are behind me saying, ‘Mom, now it’s your turn,’” she said.
At KCC-LT, we are so proud to be a part of Cindy’s story, and we want to wish her the very best on the road, in her new career.
