Success Stories:
Personalized Coaching

Sandy Johnson’s job search was stretching on, and she wasn’t sure why. She was educated, had more than a decade of successful sales experience and had developed an exemplary work ethic. Still, while she was invited to multiple job interviews, she wasn’t attracting an offer.

The experts at Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail had provided Johnson with services such as job referrals and resume building. In addition, staff members at the career center in Lebanon had maintained regular contact and built a trusting relationship with her. As she told them more about her job search, they identified a need for focused coaching for panel interviews.

Always ready to provide customized, personal service, a mock panel interview was arranged with five career counselors sitting in. Each provided feedback that helped Johnson understand how she could adjust her approach to engage employers and stand out from other candidates in a panel interview.

“Their notes were very valuable and that’s what helped me,” Johnson said.

Johnson put her newly developed interview skills to work, and not long after that session, she accepted a high-paying job offer in sales management. Her career is on track, and she credits the Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail staff.

“I wouldn’t be here without them,” Johnson said. “They didn’t give me a motivational speech that would keep me going for a day. They gave me coaching that will make me more determined forever.”
