In-Demand Career: Quality Technician

November 1, 2022

When it comes to employers in Central Kentucky, quality technicians are in high-demand.

As the job title suggests, quality technicians ensure that company products meet required quality and safety standards. Some essential skills required for the job include quality control analysis, active listening, complex problem solving and reading comprehension. On average, quality technicians make $33,000 per year, or $16 per hour.

As a quality technician, you will have the flexibility to work in a variety of industries, from healthcare to electronics to food processing. Upward mobility also is possible, as many quality technicians advance to supervisor or management positions.

In many places of employment, on-site training is provided for entry-level quality technician positions and often, only a high school diploma or GED is required. For those looking for advancements in the field, personal certifications can be earned.
