What is RESEA?
Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment (RESEA) Orientation Class is a program designed to help you get back into the workforce faster. The initial orientation class is the first major step in this program.
What to expect at a RESEA Orientation Class?
The class covers several core elements:
- Introduction to Free Resources: You’ll be introduced to the extensive, free services available at your local career center that you might not know about—such as specialized resume workshops, mock interview coaching, career counseling, and job fairs.
- Training & Education Opportunities: They will explain how you might qualify for funding or grants (like WIOA grants) for short-term certifications, apprenticeships, or tech schools to upgrade your skills.
- Labor Market Information (LMI): You will learn how to find data regarding which industries are actively hiring in your immediate area and what those roles pay.
- Unemployment Insurance (UI) Rights and Responsibilities: Staff will clearly lay out exactly what you must do to keep your weekly unemployment benefits active, heavily focusing on the rules surrounding your weekly job search logs.
