The Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail’s Lebanon and Leitchfield locations are the first career centers in Kentucky to earn affiliate certification under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. Tuesday, the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board awarded the certifications, affirming the career centers’ commitment to customer focus in unified services to all job seekers and employers.
“The career centers play an important role in building the competitive workforce that will help our region thrive, and we are excited to see the quality of that work confirmed by this certification,” said Mary Cambron, a member of the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board and human resources manager at JoyGlobal in Lebanon.
“This certification further establishes that the services offered to job seekers and employers are high-quality, effective services,” said Trish Niles, a member of the Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board and human resources manager at Mid-Park in Leitchfield.
All affiliate centers must be certified by June 30, 2016. Full-service centers must be certified by June 30, 2015. LTWIB also oversees an affiliate center in Bardstown and a full-service center in Elizabethtown, and the certification process for those sites is underway.
Certification requires an extensive application process and review by a five-member panel appointed by the local workforce investment board. The review ensures affiliate sites provide successful employer services as well as career advising, assessment, job referrals, training information and other services to job seekers.
