Approximately 50 employers attending regional career fair

October 16, 2017

The Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail, the Hardin County Chamber of Commerce, the Elizabethtown chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (ESHRM) and KYJOBS.net will host the 2017 Fall Regional Job and Career Fair Expo on Oct. 19. The fair is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown.

“Finding qualified employees has become a top priority for businesses, especially as our local and regional economies grow,” said Hardin County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Brad Richardson. “We are very pleased to provide a new opportunity for the business community and job seekers to connect.”

For 17 years, a Regional Job and Career Fair Expo has been held each spring. Requests from growing employers led to the new fall expo, organizers said.

Approximately 50 employers in a variety of job sectors as well as multiple education and employment resource providers will be on hand to discuss career opportunities with job seekers.

“From small businesses to healthcare organizations to major manufacturing operations, employers throughout our region are growing and looking for the right talent,” said Carter Dyson, One Stop Director of the Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail, which provides no-cost services to job seekers and employers. “For job seekers looking for the right career opportunity, the Regional Job and Career Fair Expo is an excellent place to meet many of these employers.”

Dyson added that job seekers should dress for success and be prepared for potential on-site interviews. Job seekers also should bring resumes. At the fair, which is free and open for all job seekers, ESHRM representatives will be available to review resumes and offer advice.

KYJOBS.net also will be represented at the fair. An interactive website, accessible through The News-Enterprise’s website, KYJOBS.net matches job seekers and employers and gives them the added reach of 18 other Kentucky newspapers.

Employers still can register to attend by calling 270-765-4334. The employer registration fee is $250.
