


As a Nursing Assistant Extern, you will take courses at ECTC and receive hands-on experience at Baptist Health Hardin while helping to improve healthcare in the region.
Baptist Health Hardin is an integrated system of providers and facilities serving approximately 400,000 residents in 10 central Kentucky counties: Hardin, LaRue, Meade, Breckinridge, Grayson, Nelson, Hart, Bullitt, Green and Taylor.

Nursing Assistant Extern responsibilities include:
- Assisting patients with personal hygiene
- Transporting patients as assigned
- Recording vital signs accurately within an established time frame
- Assisting registered nurses and patients with exams and treatments as directed

Complete Four Courses at ECTC
- NAA 100 - Nursing Assistant Skills (3 credits)
- HSE 101 - Intro to Health Sciences (1 credit)
- CPR - For Healthcare Professionals (1 credit)
- AHS 115 - Medical Terminology (3 credits)

The Nursing Assistant Extern Program is a collaboration between Elizabethtown Community and Technical College Workforce Solutions, Baptist Health Hardin, the Kentucky Career Center-Lincoln Trail and the Lincoln Trail Workforce Development Board.
